Pick Me Up Music!

Everyone has those days when it feels like you are going in slow motion and getting hit by every bad thing possible that day, and many times, there is not a whole lot that you can do to cheer yourself up. I have the remedy for you: music. Music speaks to parts of the body and brain that we don't understand.
Here is a man who has a form of Dementia. He had not talked or really responded to much until now...

How beautiful is that? If music can lift a man in the middle of darkness into light, music can help you out of your funk!

Here are a few songs that I find are able to help me out of my bad days:

"The Way You Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra or Michael Buble
"It's a Beautiful Day" by Michael Buble
"Mmm Bop" by Hansen
"ABC" by the Jackson 5
"I Want Crazy" by Hunter Hayes
"Love Makes Me" by Hunter Hayes
"The Middle" by Jimmy Eat World
"I Want You Back" by the Jackson 5
"Absolutely" by Nine Days
"Barefoot Blue Jean Night" by Jake Owen
"Beyond the Sea" by Bobby Darin
"Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" by the Andrews Sisters
"Chicken Fried" by the Zac Brown Band
" Defying Gravity" from Wicked
"Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey
"I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz

Those are just a few! But, Hey! If you have more let me know!

Dating.

Why does it always seem like my friends are finding love, while I am constantly living vicariously through The Bachelorette? It is because they are! One friend goes through boyfriends like crazy, until she finds a good one. Another friend dates the same guy constantly. Me? I date my country music until I find my prince charming. Which may end up being the old man staring at me in the dining hall of the senior living home when I am seventy.
I have realized that I actually don't mind being single though. I want to wait for the guy who will treat me like my daddy wants him to treat me. The few men I did date did far from that, and I am tired of men with hidden agendas trying to date me, and I know the man God created for me will find me one day ( I do hope it is soon), and I know he won't be anything like my past boyfriends.
Now, here is my advice to you girls (or guys) who find it hard to wait. Here is what the Bible says about it,"Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends" (1 Corinthians 13:4-8). I believe love is the most wonderful thing we humans can find, and I am not talking about the fake love that Johnny tells you  he feels just to get you in bed. True love. Would you rather have your heart broken by someone who you absolutely know is not right for you because you could not wait for the right one? Now, of course, there is always the person that you think is right and may not be; people are thrown into your life for certain reasons unknown. One think we may be certain of, God's timing is always perfect, so your time will come to find out what the love described in 1st Corinthians is, until then, guard your heart!
For those who have no desire to find love yet, have fun! Don't do anything you may regret later, but enjoy life and dating! Life is full of opportunities for fun and laughter, don't deny that!

Necessities vs Pure Want

I have been having the biggest pain trying to gather necessities for my first condo. I cannot help but think I am forgetting things. I rack my brain:
Bed frame...Check
Pots and pans...Check
Couches...Check
Coffee table...Check
Lamps...Check
Dresser...Check
TV/DVD player...Check
Mattress...................
I cannot seem to find a mattress on the budget of the poor college student. I have to get a used mattress...off of Craigslist. And before you think I am insane, yes I do think it is disgusting, but I will bleach the whole thing if I have to. Of course, there is the option of using an air mattress as my permanent bed, but who knows who that would work out with earrings and puppy claws.
Aside from the obvious necessities, I have found a few things that I don't need too. Things like, well, a TV. I know I put it under necessities, and for good reason too! Who likes to have the only thing readily available to listen to as your own thoughts? Not me. I would love to have so cheesy, catty, drama- filled gossip television show to watch whenever life has got me down. Bad hair day? No problem, at least I am not living in a house full of girls prettier than me who trash the house while wanting to rip my head off  ( Yes, America's Next Top Model is my secret addiction). Now, I have my television shows, but I have to have my movies! What are the lonely nights without Chad Michael Murray and Chris Pine? I mean I may be single but all those girls in my romance movies aren't, and I, Miss Single, have to live vicariously through them until I become Miss Taken...( I wonder if whomever came up with those word meant them to look like mistaken...)
I am not experienced in living away from home, other than my dorm, so I know I am forgetting wants and needs...more to come once I realize them!
